Hobbies

I am 26 years old and am currently an anesthesiology resident at Walter Reed. When I was a young girl, I knew I wanted to be a doctor and ultimately I was able to achieve that goal. I am well-experienced in college and medical school applications and love to mentor premedical students. I am a first-generation college student so I never had many connections in the medical field or academia and I am passionate about helping young students pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). I can help mentor and coach students on how to best position themselves to get into college and/or medical school. I am happy to share my experience and help with applications, and I have examples from my own applications that I am happy to share! I have various teaching experiences, to include working as a teaching assistant in the surgical anatomy cadaver lab at Stanford School of Medicine. There, I taught undergraduates surgical anatomy and helped with course content, dissections, and mentored these students on medical student applications. I received a Bachelor's in Science at the United States Military Academy at West Point. I am a Captain in the US Army in the Medical Corps. I played 4 years of Division 1 basketball at West Point, so sports are a huge part of my life. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching sporting events, spending time at the beach, working out, and fellowshipping at church. I am originally from Southern California, however, I spent four years on the east coast in New York for undergrad. and now live in Maryland. I love working with children and teenagers, and have spent time helping coach basketball clinics, run the special olympics at my previous school, and volunteering at church.
